Khushal is one of the leading partners of Peeroo Chambers. He has established a close working relationship with the head of chambers and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in various practice areas. In addition to litigation before the courts, he is well versed in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and assists the legal process in resolving disputes through mutual facilitation and mediation. 

He regularly advises local authorities, governmental institutions and parastatal bodies as well as private companies in the field of contract management, preparation and vetting of international bidding documents, Construction and Environmental Law and procurement procedures. In recent years, he has also been involved in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and business plans for companies investing in the construction of textile factories, hotels, bungalows and villas.

Khushal acts on commercial and company matters, including purchase and sale of companies, joint ventures, business process and infrastructure outsourcing, distributorships and franchise agreements. 

He is a leading specialist in Maritime & Shipping Law and has been been providing corporate legal advice on all aspects of Mauritian Shipping Law including cargo claims, ship arrests and ship registration amongst others. He acts for clients associated with the Maritime & Shipping Industry including ship owners and charterers, port operators, freight forwarders, ship and chartering brokers and marine engineering companies amongst others. He regularly advises on company formations of group of companies and has a large portfolio of clients representing and holding franchise for major international brands in Mauritius. He also holds expertise in specialised key areas of the law of injunctions and Judicial Review.

Khushal has lectured and written various articles on the Mauritius legal system in general and on specific areas of the law such as injunctions, Anti Money Laundering legislations and civil rights amongst others. He was educated at the University of Wolverhampton and at Cardiff Law School and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Lincoln’s Inn. He is also a member of the International Bar Association, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and a member of the International Bunkering Association.
