Ms Amira Peeroo

Barrister

Amira completed her Bachelor of Laws with a first-class degree from the University of Mauritius in October 2015 and was subsequently ranked first in the Barrister’s stream of the Mauritian Bar Vocational Course.  She undertook a major part of her pupillage under the supervision of the Head of Chambers, during which she acquired extensive knowledge and experience in various practice areas. Amira was called to the Bar of Mauritius in January 2018.

As a barrister, Amira undertakes both civil and criminal litigation. She has acquired experience in family matters, employment laws and land law. She often assists Jamsheed Peeroo in arbitration matters and corporate advisory work.

Moreover, she acts as Prosecuting Counsel on a retainer basis for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, whilst being a part-time law lecturer at the University of Mauritius.

Amira is also a Certified Accountant (ACCA Affiliate) and provides corporate, insolvency, good governance, accountancy and tax advice to both individual and corporate clients.
